Lift device with robotic welding attachment innovations

A lift device comprising:

• an actuator configured to raise and lower a robotic attachment;
• and
• a frame configured to support the actuator, the frame including a prime mover configured to rotate one or more wheels coupled to the frame,
• wherein the robotic attachment comprises:
• a base;
• a robotic implement supported by the base and moveable independent of the base;
• a stabilizer bar coupled to the base and moveable independent of the base;
• a stabilizer bar actuator configured to move the stabilizer bar relative to the base;
• and
• a lock configured to selectively hold the stabilizer bar in position,
• wherein the stabilizer bar actuator is configured to move the stabilizer bar between a first position and second position relative to the base to engage with an external support to generate a stabilizing force for the robotic attachment, and wherein a first minimum distance between the stabilizer bar and the base in the first position is less than a second minimum distance between the stabilizer bar and the base in the second position,
• wherein the lock is moveable between a disengaged position and an engaged position, and wherein in the engaged position the stabilizing force is transferred from the stabilizer bar to the base via the lock when the lock is engaged,
• wherein in the engaged position the stabilizer bar actuator is substantially removed from a force path between the stabilizer bar and the base, and
• wherein the stabilizer bar actuator is further configured to limit the stabilizing force exerted by the stabilizer bar onto the external support to a predetermined maximum force.
