Abstract
Methods for forming arrays of droplets, and associated arrays of droplets, are generally provided.
Claims20
A method of forming an array of droplets, comprising:
- depositing a plurality of droplets onto a surface;
- and
- enclosing some or all of the droplets in the plurality of droplets in an enclosure, wherein:
- the surface is flat;
- the surface has a uniform surface chemistry;
- the surface is hydrophobic;
- the plurality of droplets comprises greater than or equal to 10 droplets;
- the enclosure reduces and/or prevents evaporation of water from the droplets;
- and
- the density of the droplets on the surface is greater than or equal to 1 droplet per square millimeter of the surface.

- the droplets in the plurality of droplets are disposed on the surface;
- the surface is flat;
