Abstract
A bone drill guiding device including a drill entry part comprising a cannula having a distal end portion and sized to receive a bone drill, a drill exit part comprising a fixation tip portion and a coupling that rigidly couples the drill entry part and the drill exit part so that longitudinal axes of the cannula distal portion and the fixation tip portion are arranged on a single mutual axis. In some embodiments, the coupling is a linear sliding coupling that parallels the single mutual axis.
Claims30
A bone drill guiding device comprising:
- an entry point guiding assembly comprising a guide cannula sized to receive a bone drill, wherein said guide cannula has a longitudinal axis;
- an exit point fixation assembly comprising a fixation tip portion, wherein said fixation tip portion defines a point;
- and
- wherein said entry point guiding assembly is selectably lockable in position relative to said exit point fixation assembly in a locked orientation,
- wherein said fixation tip portion has a marker that marks a trajectory of the bone drill;
- wherein, in said locked orientation, said point defined by said fixation tip portion is colinear with said guide cannula longitudinal axis;
- and
- wherein said marker has a ring geometry defining a perimeter within which the bone drill trajectory is located, wherein said ring geometry defines a plane and wherein said plane is perpendicular to said guide cannula longitudinal axis.
