Abstract
Systems and methods of evaluating a patient comprise the steps of obtaining temporal data of the patient after an event, monitoring a plurality of patient parameters, compiling patient data based on the temporal data and patient parameters, determining a state or change in state of the patient based on the compiled patient data, and alerting medical staff of the state or change in state.
Claims34
A method of evaluating a patient after a medical event, comprising the steps of, on a patient monitoring device:
- obtaining data for a plurality of patient parameters after the medical event, wherein the patient parameters include at least tidal volume (TV) and respiratory rate (RR) of the patient;
- obtaining temporal data for each of the patient parameters after the medical event;
- monitoring the temporal data for each patient parameter to identify a change of a state of the patient after the medical event;
- evaluating the temporal data of the patient parameter corresponding to the change of the state of the patient and determining if the temporal data of the patient parameter is indicative of the change of the state of the patient being related to the medical event;
- and
- administering a treatment to the patient based on the change of the state of the patient, wherein the administered treatment is determined based on whether or not the change of the state of the patient is related to the medical event;
- and
- wherein the treatment is at least one of administering or adjusting a drug dosage and adjusting a ventilator.
A system of evaluating a patient after a medical event, comprising:
- a processor adapted to obtain temporal data of the patient after the medical event;
- a plurality of input devices in communication with the processor adapted to monitor a plurality of patient parameters, wherein the patient parameters include at least tidal volume (TV) and respiratory rate (RR) of the patient;
- and
- wherein the processor:
- compiles the temporal data of each of the monitored patient parameters;
- identifies a change of a state of the patient based on the compiled temporal data;
- evaluates the compiled temporal data to determine if the change of the state of the patient is indicative of the change of the state of the patient being related to the medical event;
- and
- administers a treatment to the patient based on the change of the state of the patient, wherein the administered treatment is determined based on whether or not the change of the state of the patient is related to the medical event;
- and
- wherein the treatment is at least one of administering or adjusting a drug dosage and adjusting a ventilator.
A method of evaluating a patient after a medical event, comprising the steps of, on a bioimpedance measuring device:
- obtaining data for a plurality of patient parameters after the medical event, wherein the patient parameters include at least tidal volume (TV) and respiratory rate (RR) of the patient obtained from the bioimpedance measuring device;
- obtaining temporal data for each of the patient parameters after the medical event;
- monitoring the temporal data for each patient parameter to determine a change of a state of the patient;
- evaluating the temporal data of the patient parameter corresponding to the change of the state of the patient and determining if the temporal data of the patient parameter is indicative of the change of the state of the patient being related to the medical event;
- and
- administering a treatment to the patient based on the change of the state of the patient, wherein the administered treatment is determined based on whether or not the change of the state of the patient is related to the medical event;
- and
- wherein the treatment is at least one of administering or adjusting a drug dosage and adjusting a ventilator.
A system of evaluating a patient, comprising:
- a bioimpediance measuring device adapted to monitor a plurality of patient parameters, wherein the patient parameters include at least tidal volume (TV) and respiratory rate (RR) of the patient;
- and
- a processor coupled to the bioimpedance measuring device and adapted to:
- obtain temporal data of the patient for of each of the monitored patient parameters;
- identify a change of a state of the patient based on the temporal data;
- evaluate the temporal data to determine if the change of the state of the patient is indicative of the change of the state of the patient being related to the medical event;
- and
- administers a treatment to the patient based on the change of the state of the patient,
- wherein the administered treatment is determined based on whether or not the change of the state of the patient is related to the medical event;
- and
- wherein the treatment is at least one of administering or adjusting a drug dosage and adjusting a ventilator.
