• memory;
• and
• one or more processors coupled to the memory, the one or more processors configured to perform operations including:
• receiving input corresponding to a selection of an account security element of a merchant website, wherein receiving includes a first routine associated with a merchant system for a function, wherein the account security element includes a second routine for the function, and wherein the second routine is associated with an account security system;
• generating a user interface for the merchant website on the device, wherein generating involves using the first routine;
• generating a modal on the user interface, wherein the modal facilitates establishing a secure connection with the account security system;
• and
• establishing a secure communication channel with the account security system, wherein establishing includes using the modal and the second routine, wherein the secure communication channel facilitates data security for client data as part of a secure transaction, and wherein the second routine is optimized to avoid conflicts with the first routine when the user interface for the device is operating with the account security system.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a client device, cause the client device to perform operations comprising:

• receiving input corresponding to a selection of an account security element of a merchant website, wherein receiving includes a first routine associated with a merchant system for a function, wherein the account security element includes a second routine for the function, and wherein the second routine is associated with an account security system;
• generating a user interface for the merchant website on the client device, wherein generating involves using the first routine;
• generating a modal on the user interface, wherein the modal facilitates establishing a secure connection with the account security system;
• and
• establishing a secure communication channel with the account security system, wherein establishing includes using the modal and the second routine, wherein the secure communication channel facilitates data security for client data as part of a secure transaction, and wherein the second routine is optimized to avoid conflicts with the first routine when the user interface for the client device is operating with the account security system.
