Abstract
A floor panel with a substrate, a decorative layer of wood veneer with a thickness of 1 millimeter or less on the substrate, and a lacquer layer including transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer. The lacquer layer can have hard particles. The lacquer layer can extend from the upper surface of the wood veneer at least up to a side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer.
Claims21
A floor panel comprising:
- a substrate;
- a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the wood veneer comprising an upper surface and a side edge, wherein the side edge is formed by a cross cut through the wood veneer, and wherein the wood veneer has a thickness of 1 millimeter or less;
- and
- a lacquer layer comprising a transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer;
- wherein the lacquer layer comprises hard particles;
- and
- wherein the lacquer layer extends from the upper surface of the wood veneer at least up to the side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer.
A method for manufacturing floor panels that comprise at least a substrate and a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the method comprising:
- providing a basic board;
- providing one or more wood veneers that each comprise an upper surface and a side edge, which is obtained by a cross cut through the one or more wood veneers;
- composing a stack comprising at least the basic board, a glue layer, and the one or more wood veneers;
- pressing the stack, such that the one or more wood veneers are adhered to the basic board and producing a pressed stack;
- dividing the pressed stack into a plurality of panels, and potentially profiling edges of the plurality of panels obtained;
- and
- subsequent to the dividing and potentially subsequent to the profiling, applying a lacquer layer comprising a transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer;
- wherein the lacquer layer comprises hard particles;
- and
- wherein the lacquer layer extends from the upper surface of the wood veneer at least up to the side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer.
A floor panel comprising:
- a substrate;
- a decorative layer of wood veneer on the substrate, the wood veneer comprising an upper surface and a side edge, wherein the wood veneer has a thickness of 1 millimeter or less;
- and
- a lacquer layer comprising a transparent or translucent surface material on the wood veneer;
- wherein the lacquer layer comprises hard particles;
- wherein the lacquer layer extends from the upper surface of the wood veneer at least up to the side edge of the wood veneer, such that the side edge is at least partially covered by the lacquer layer;
- and
- wherein the lacquer layer comprises at least two sublayers, at least an uppermost sublayer of the at least two sublayers at least partially covering the side edge.
