Abstract
An intraocular lens is disclosed that includes an optic body with a projection extending radially outwards from a peripheral surface of the optic body. The projection comprises a haptic contact surface facing radially outward, wherein the entire haptic contact surface is a flat surface. A haptic having a free distal end and a proximal portion is secured to the projection along the haptic contact surface, wherein the projection and the proximal portion interface at a butt joint without the haptic extending into the projection and without the projection extending into the haptic. The haptic also includes a haptic fluid chamber.
Claims6
An intraocular lens, comprising:
- an optic portion comprising a posterior element;
- and
- a haptic comprising one or more ridges located posterior to the posterior element and protruding, in a posterior direction, from a rounded posterior outer surface of the haptic, wherein the rounded posterior outer surface is located posterior to the posterior element, and wherein at least one of the ridges is a square-shaped ridge, wherein the haptic comprises a proximal portion coupled to the optic portion and a distal free end not coupled to the optic portion, and wherein the one or more ridges extend along a length of the haptic from the proximal portion to the distal free end.
