## Abstract

A novel soybean variety, designated 5PLFW22 is provided. Also provided are the seeds of soybean variety 5PLFW22, cells from soybean variety 5PLFW22, plants of soybean 5PLFW22, and plant parts of soybean variety 5PLFW22. Methods provided include producing a soybean plant by crossing soybean variety 5PLFW22 with another soybean plant, methods for introgressing a transgenic trait, a mutant trait, and/or a native trait into soybean variety 5PLFW22, methods for producing other soybean varieties or plant parts derived from soybean variety 5PLFW22, and methods of characterizing soybean variety 5PLFW22. Soybean seed, cells, plants, germplasm, breeding lines, varieties, and plant parts produced by these methods and/or derived from soybean variety 5PLFW22 are further provided.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A plant or a seed of soybean line 5PLFW22, representative seed of the soybean line 5PLFW22 having been deposited under NCMA Accession Number 202301029.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

A soybean plant, or part thereof, produced by growing the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

A method for producing treated seed, the method comprising applying a seed treatment to the seed of claim 1.

### Claim 4

A soybean seed obtained by introducing a transgene into soybean line 5PLFW22, representative seed of the soybean line 5PLFW22 having been deposited under NCMA Accession Number 202301029, wherein the soybean seed produces a soybean plant comprising the transgene and otherwise comprising all the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean line 5PLFW22 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The seed of claim 4, wherein the transgene confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphate, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

A soybean plant produced by growing the seed of claim 4.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

A method of introducing a mutation into the genome of soybean line 5PLFW22, the method comprising applying a mutagen to the plant or seed of claim 1, wherein the mutagen is selected from the group consisting of ethyl methanesulfonate, gamma radiation and sodium azide, and wherein the resulting plant or seed comprises a mutation.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

A method for producing soybean seed, the method comprising harvesting soybean seed from a cross of two soybean plants, wherein at least one soybean plant is the soybean plant of claim 1.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

An F1 soybean seed produced by the method of claim 8.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

A method for developing a second soybean plant, the method comprising applying plant breeding techniques to a plant grown from the seed of claim 9, wherein application of the techniques results in development of the second soybean plant.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A method comprising isolating nucleic acids from the plant or seed of claim 1.

### Claim 12 (depends on 1)

A method of producing a soybean plant comprising a locus conversion, the method comprising introducing a locus conversion into the plant of claim 1, wherein the locus conversion confers a trait selected from the group consisting of male sterility, a site-specific recombination site, abiotic stress tolerance, altered phosphate, altered antioxidants, altered fatty acids, altered essential amino acids, altered carbohydrates, herbicide resistance, insect resistance, and disease resistance.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

A soybean plant produced by the method of claim 12, wherein the soybean plant comprises the locus conversion and otherwise comprises all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of soybean line 5PLFW22 when grown under the same environmental conditions.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The soybean plant of claim 13, wherein the locus conversion comprises a transgene encoding a Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) endotoxin.

### Claim 15 (depends on 1)

A method for modifying a cell of the plant or a cell of the seed of claim 1, the method comprising performing genome editing techniques on the cell of the seed or the cell of the plant, such that the cell of the seed or the cell of the plant is modified.

### Claim 16 (depends on 1)

A soybean commodity plant product produced from the plant or seed of claim 1, wherein the commodity plant product comprises at least one cell of soybean line 5PLFW22.

### Claim 17 (depends on 2)

A soybean plant expressing all the physiological and morphological characteristics of the soybean plant of claim 2, representative seed of the soybean line 5PLFW22 having been deposited under NCMA Accession Number 202301029.

### Claim 18

A seed, plant, plant part, or plant cell of soybean line 5PLFW22, representative seed of the soybean line 5PLFW22 having been deposited under NCMA Accession Number 202301029, wherein the seed, plant, plant part or plant cell of soybean line 5PLFW22 further comprises a single locus conversion.
