Abstract
A system may include an information handling resource, a liquid cooling system for providing cooling of the information handling resource, a management controller for providing out-of-band management of the system, and a strain gauge sensor within a fluidic pathway of the liquid cooling system and communicatively coupled to the management controller and configured to measure a mechanical strain upon the strain gauge sensor in response to flow of fluid through a fluidic channel of the liquid cooling system and communicate one or more signals to the management controller indicative of the mechanical strain.
Claims14
A system comprising:
- an information handling resource;
- a liquid cooling system for providing cooling of the information handling resource;
- a management controller for providing out-of-band management of the system;
- and
- a strain gauge sensor mounted within a fluidic pathway of the liquid cooling system via a plurality of mounting structures to mechanically couple the strain gauge sensor to interior walls of the fluidic pathway, the strain gauge sensor communicatively coupled to the management controller and configured to:
- measure a mechanical strain upon the strain gauge sensor in response to flow of fluid through a fluidic channel of the liquid cooling system;
- and
- communicate one or more signals to the management controller indicative of the mechanical strain.
A method comprising:
- measuring a mechanical strain upon a strain gauge sensor mounted within a fluidic pathway, via a plurality of mounting structures to mechanically couple the strain gauge sensor to interior walls of the fluidic pathway, of a liquid cooling system for providing cooling of an information handling system;
- and
- communicating one or more signals to a management controller for providing out-of-band management of the information handling system, the one or more signals indicative of the mechanical strain.
A system comprising:
- a fluidic channel configured to convey a fluid;
- and
- a strain gauge sensor mounted within the fluidic channel via a plurality of mounting structures to mechanically couple the strain gauge sensor to interior walls of the fluidic pathway and configured to:
- measure a mechanical strain upon the strain gauge sensor in response to flow of fluid through the fluidic channel;
- and
- communicate one or more signals to a management controller for providing out-of-band management of the system, the one or more signals indicative of the mechanical strain.
