Efficient processing of image data for generating composite images

A method for processing data, the method comprising:

• receiving image data;
• determining at least one mask based on intensities of pixels of the image data, wherein the at least one mask is indicative of pixels of the image data with intensities that meet at least one luminance threshold;
• processing a portion of the image data based on the at least one mask;
• and
• storing the portion of the image data in a memory;
• wherein the portion of the image data includes less than an entirety of the image data.

A method for processing data, the method comprising:

• receiving image data;
• determining at least one mask based on intensities of pixels of the image data, wherein the at least one mask is indicative of pixels of the image data with intensities that meet at least one luminance threshold;
• and
• storing a portion of the image data in a memory based on the at least one mask, wherein the portion of the image data includes less than an entirety of the image data.

A method for processing data, the method comprising:

• receiving image data;
• determining at least one mask based on intensities of pixels of the image data, wherein the at least one mask is indicative of pixels of the image data with intensities that meet at least one luminance threshold;
• storing the image data in a memory;
• storing the at least one mask in the memory;
• reading the at least one mask from the memory;
• reading a portion of the image data from the memory based on the at least one mask;
• and
• processing the portion of the image data read from the memory.
