Methods, user equipment and non-transitory computer-readable media for autonomous resource selection

A user equipment (UE) comprising:

• processing circuitry configured to,
• obtain a sidelink resource set, a number of current UEs and a first user identifier (ID) from a network, the number of current UEs corresponding to UEs currently participating in sidelink transmission in a serving cell,
• assign a plurality of sequence numbers to a plurality of resource units among the sidelink resource set,
• select a subset of the plurality of resource units as sidelink resources of the UE, the subset of the plurality of resource units having particular sequence numbers from among the plurality of sequence numbers, and the selection including,
• computing a first sequence number among the particular sequence numbers by performing a modulo operation based on the first user ID and a number of the plurality of resource units, and
• computing a second sequence number among the particular sequence numbers by adding the first sequence number to the number of current UEs, and
• transmit a communication signal using the sidelink resources of the UE.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a user equipment (UE), cause the at least one processor to:

• obtain a sidelink resource set, a number of current UEs and a first user identifier (ID) from a network, the number of current UEs corresponding to UEs currently participating in sidelink transmission in a serving cell;
• assign a plurality of sequence numbers to a plurality of resource units among the sidelink resource set;
• select a subset of the plurality of resource units as sidelink resources of the UE, the subset of the plurality of resource units having particular sequence numbers from among the plurality of sequence numbers, and the selection including,
• computing a first sequence number among the particular sequence numbers by performing a modulo operation based on the first user ID and a number of the plurality of resource units, and
• computing a second sequence number among the particular sequence numbers by adding the first sequence number to the number of current UEs;
• and
• transmit a communication signal using the sidelink resources of the UE.
