Abstract
Systems, methods, and software can be used to communicates vehicle signals. In some aspects, one example method includes: receiving, at a server, a query for a vehicle signal; and transmitting, from the server, a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier comprises a representation of a name of the vehicle signal and a definition of at least one other element of the vehicle signal.
Claims11
A method, comprising:
- receiving, at a server from a vehicle or an electronic device associated with the vehicle, a query for a vehicle signal, wherein the query includes a path name associated with a data entry node, wherein the data entry node represents the vehicle signal, and wherein the server is separate from the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle;
- and
- transmitting, from the server to the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle, a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier indicates a name of the vehicle signal and the identifier comprises a hashing product of a string that comprises a description of at least one other element of the vehicle signal, wherein the hashing product is an output of a hashing function with the string that comprises the description as an input, and wherein the at least one other element of the vehicle signal comprises a unit or a data type of information that is represented by the vehicle signal.
A server, comprising:
- at least one hardware processor;
- and
- one or more computer-readable storage media coupled to the at least one hardware processor and storing programming instructions for execution by the at least one hardware processor, wherein the programming instructions, when executed, cause the server to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a server from a vehicle or an electronic device associated with the vehicle, a query for a vehicle signal, wherein the query includes a path name associated with a data entry node, wherein the data entry node represents the vehicle signal, and wherein the server is separate from the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle;
- and
- transmitting, from the server to the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle, a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier indicates a name of the vehicle signal and the identifier comprises a hashing product of a string that comprises a description of at least one other element of the vehicle signal, wherein the hashing product is an output of a hashing function with the string that comprises the description as an input, and wherein the at least one other element of the vehicle signal comprises a unit or a data type of information that is represented by the vehicle signal.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a computing device to perform operations comprising:
- receiving, at a server from a vehicle or an electronic device associated with the vehicle, a query for a vehicle signal, wherein the query includes a path name associated with a data entry node, wherein the data entry node represents the vehicle signal, and wherein the server is separate from the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle;
- and
- transmitting, from the server to the vehicle or the electronic device associated with the vehicle, a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier a response message comprising an identifier of the vehicle signal, wherein the identifier indicates a name of the vehicle signal and the identifier comprises a hashing product of a string that comprises a description of at least one other element of the vehicle signal, wherein the hashing product is an output of a hashing function with the string that comprises the description as an input, and wherein the at least one other element of the vehicle signal comprises a unit or a data type of information that is represented by the vehicle signal.
