Decentralized identity-based communication service

A method, comprising:

• in response to receiving a cryptographic authentication request from a wallet service associated with a first user, performing a cryptographic authentication operation which generates a cryptographic authentication response;
• sending the cryptographic authentication response to the wallet service;
• establishing an interactive session between the wallet service associated with the first user and a second user client device in response to the cryptographic authentication response authenticating a verifier service, wherein the interactive session is established by a computing device distinct from the wallet service and the second user client device;
• facilitating a transfer of an inquiry about information of the first user from the second user client device to the wallet service;
• receiving a response to the inquiry from the wallet service;
• validating the response to the inquiry based at least in part on a verification credential associated with the first user;
• and
• transmitting the response to the inquiry to the second user client device.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium comprising machine-readable instructions that, when executed by a processor of a computing device, cause the computing device to at least:

• in response to receiving a cryptographic authentication request from a wallet service associated with a first user, perform a cryptographic authentication operation which generates a cryptographic authentication response;
• send the cryptographic authentication response to the wallet service;
• establish an interactive session between the wallet service associated with the first user and a second user client device in response to the cryptographic authentication response authenticating a verifier service, the wallet service and the second user client device being distinct from the computing device;
• obtain a verifiable credential from the wallet service, the verifiable credential being associated with the first user;
• receive an inquiry from the second user client device;
• send the inquiry to the wallet service;
• in response to receiving a response to the inquiry from the wallet service, determine if the response is valid based at least in part on the verifiable credential;
• and
• send the response to the second user client device.
