Discoverable collaboration teams

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a content management system, a request from a user account of a user device to create a collaboration team having a shared team folder;
• assigning, by the content management system, a first email domain to the collaboration team as a team domain, the team domain being used for automatic discovery of additional user accounts associated with the collaboration team;
• detecting, by the content management system, that a first user has logged into a first user account managed by the content management system from a client device;
• determining, by the content management system, that the first user account is associated with a second email domain corresponding to the team domain;
• based on the determination that the second email domain of the first user account corresponds to the team domain, prompting, by the content management system, the first user to join the collaboration team;
• providing, by the content management system, the first user account with a first team license from a plurality of team licenses allocated to the collaboration team based on the team domain, wherein the first team license permits assignment of a first access level of a plurality of access levels to the user account:
• providing, by the content management system, access to the shared team folder corresponding to the collaboration team;
• and
• causing, by the content management system, synchronization of the shared team folder with a content management system client executing on the client device.

A method comprising:

• receiving, by a content management system, a request from a user account of a user device to create a collaboration team having a shared team folder, wherein the collaboration team includes a team domain, the team domain being used for automatic discovery of additional user accounts associated with the collaboration team;
• detecting, by the content management system, that a first user has logged into a first user account managed by the content management system from a client device;
• prompting, by the content management system, the first user to join the collaboration team based on the first user account being associated with the team domain;
• providing, by the content management system, the first user account with a first team license from a plurality of team licenses allocated to the collaboration team based on the team domain, wherein the first team license permits assignment of a first access level of a plurality of access levels to the user account;
• providing, by the content management system, access to the shared team folder corresponding to the collaboration team in accordance with the first access level from the plurality of access levels;
• and
• causing, by the content management system, synchronization of the shared team folder with a content management system client executing on the client device in accordance with the first access level.
