Centralizer for a tool in a drill collar

A method of centralizing a tool within a tubular for a subterranean operation, the method comprising:

• installing a biasing device in each one of a plurality of protrusions of a centralizer, wherein the plurality of protrusions extend radially outward from a body;
• extending a first portion of each one of the biasing devices radially outward past an outer radial surface of a respective one of the plurality of protrusions, wherein the first portion of each one of the biasing devices is configured to engage an internal surface of the tubular;
• and
• extending a second portion of each one of the biasing devices radially inward past an inner radial surface of a central bore in the body of the centralizer, wherein the second portion of each one of the biasing devices is configured to engage an outer surface of the tool, and wherein the first portions and the second portions are configured to substantially align a center axis of the tool with a center axis of the tubular when the tool is installed in the tubular, wherein the centralizer further comprises:
• a sleeve;
• and
• an insert that comprises the plurality of protrusions, the body, and the central bore, wherein the method further comprises:
• receiving the insert inside a bore of the sleeve;
• and
• installing a plurality of retention elements through the sleeve and engaging each one of the retention elements to a respective one of the plurality of the protrusions, thereby securing each one of the biasing devices in the respective one of the plurality of protrusions and securing the insert within the sleeve.
