Photochromic compound, naphthol derivative, curable composition, optical article, lens, and eyeglasses

A photochromic compound having a backbone represented by Formula (1) below:

• wherein
• M is C, Si, or Ge;
• R1 is a haloalkyl group having 2 or more and 20 or less carbon atoms;
• R2 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having 2 or more and 20 or less carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted haloalkyl group having 2 or more and 20 or less carbon atoms;
• Ring A is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic ring in which an aromatic ring or an aromatic heterocyclic ring is fused to any of the above-mentioned rings, or Ring A may not be present;
• and
• Ring B is a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon ring, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted fused polycyclic ring in which an aromatic ring or an aromatic heterocyclic ring is fused to any of the above-mentioned rings.
