Abstract
A process and composition is described for the inclusion of polyether polyols in concentrations greater than 10% loading on the B-side formulation with a catalyst package less than 1% loading on the B-side formulation. In one specific example, the use of glycerin as a fluorine ion scavenger is utilized to improve performance of the polyurethane systems through a twelve-month shelf life.
Claims14
A B-side component of a two component low pressure polyurethane foam, the B-side component consisting of:
- a fluoride ion scavenger;
- one or more polyols consisting of all polyether polyols and fluoride ion scavenger that is a polyol and no polyester polyols;
- at least one surfactant;
- at least one plasticizer;
- at least one catalyst;
- and
- an HFO propellant consisting of 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and no other HFO propellant other than 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
- wherein water is in an amount of less than 1% by weight of the B-side prior to inclusion of the HFO propellant at the B-side.
A B-side component of a two component low pressure polyurethane foam, the B-side component consisting of:
- a fluoride ion scavenger;
- one or more polyols consisting of all polyether polyols and fluoride ion scavenger that is a polyol and no polyester polyols, wherein the one or more polyether polyols comprise at least one oxypropylated triol and at least one propylene oxide diol;
- at least one surfactant;
- at least one plasticizer;
- at least one catalyst;
- and
- an HFO propellant consisting of 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and no other HFO propellant other than 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene,
- wherein water is in an amount of less than 1% by weight of the B-side prior to inclusion of the HFO propellant at the B-side.
