Abstract
In some embodiments, the present disclosure provides for ethylene-C3 to C20 alpha-olefins random copolymers having an ethylene content of about 45 wt % to about 70 wt % and a Mw(DRI)/Mn(DRI) of from 1.1 to 1.9. In some embodiments, the ethyl-C ene-propylene random copolymer is used as a viscosity modifier in a lubricating composition.
Claims20
A random ethylene and C3 to C20 alpha-olefin copolymer having:
- a Mw(DRI)/Mn(DRI) of from 1.1 to 1.9;
- a Mw(DRI) of from about 50,000 g/mol to about 250,000 g/mol;
- and
- an ethylene content of from about 45 wt % to about 60 wt %, wherein the random ethylene and C3 to C20 alpha-olefin copolymer comprises a crystallization temperature of about −60° C. to about 0° C.
