Abstract
A spray gun has at least one air valve that can be actuated by at least one trigger, having at least one valve inlet region and at least one valve outlet region. The spray gun has at least one material valve designed in such a way that it can be pneumatically actuated by air from the at least one valve outlet region. With this design, the force to be exerted to actuate the actuation element by the user of the spray gun is significantly lower than in prior spray guns, which allows for effortless operation.
Claims20
A spray gun comprising:
- at least one first air valve activatable by at least one activation element and including at least one first valve inlet region and at least one first valve outlet region;
- and
- at least one material valve for material to be sprayed, the at least one material valve being designed such that the at least one material valve is able to be pneumatically activated by air from the at least one first valve outlet region,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the at least one material valve can assume at least one first terminal position in which the at least one material valve is closed, one second terminal position in which the at least one material valve is completely opened, and at least one intermediate position in which the at least one material valve is partially opened,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the at least one activation element can assume at least one first terminal position in which the at least one activation element is non-activated, one second terminal position in which the at least one activation element is completely activated, and at least one intermediate position in which the at least one activation element is partially activated,
- wherein the position of the at least one activation element determines the position of the at least one material valve,
- wherein the spray gun further comprises a material valve activation device that includes at least one air inlet, one air outlet, and an intervening air chamber,
- wherein the air chamber on at least one side is delimited by at least one material valve activation element for activating the at least one material valve,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the pressure in the air chamber is determined at least by the quantity of air supplied via the air inlet to the air chamber and by at least one air outlet valve arranged in the air outlet, and
- wherein the air outlet valve and the quantity of the air supplied via the air inlet are designed such that, when the at least one activation element is held in the at least one intermediate position in which the at least one activation element is partially activated, the pressure in the air chamber holds the at least one material valve activation element in an intermediate position, which holds the at least one material valve in the at least one intermediate position in which the at least one material valve is partially opened.

A spray gun comprising:
- a first air valve activatable by an activation element and including a first valve inlet region and a first valve outlet region;
- a second air valve disposed upstream of the first air valve, the second air valve including a second valve outlet region that is disposed between the first air valve and the second air valve;
- and
- a material valve for material to be sprayed, the material valve being designed such that the material valve is able to be pneumatically activated by air from the first valve outlet region,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the material valve can assume a first terminal position in which the material valve is closed, a second terminal position in which the material valve is completely opened, and an intermediate position in which the material valve is partially opened,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the activation element can assume a first terminal position in which the activation element is non-activated, a second terminal position in which the activation element is completely activated, and an intermediate position in which the activation element is partially activated,
- wherein the position of the activation element determines the position of the material valve,
- wherein the spray gun further comprises a material valve activation device that includes an air inlet, an air outlet, and an intervening air chamber that on at least one side is delimited by a material valve activation element for activating the material valve,
- wherein the first air valve is formed by at least part of the main body of the spray gun and by a valve piston that is disposed between the activation element and a closure part of the second air valve,
- wherein the second valve outlet region opens into an air outlet opening of the spray gun, and
- wherein the valve piston includes a clearance that is enlarged in the direction of the activation element of the spray gun such that, when the activation element is held in the intermediate position in which the activation element is partially activated, the clearance connects the first valve outlet region and the second valve outlet region, which allows the material valve to remain in the intermediate position in which the material valve is partially opened.

A spray gun comprising:
- at least one first air valve activatable by at least one activation element and including at least one first valve inlet region and at least one first valve outlet region;
- and
- at least one material valve for material to be sprayed, the at least one material valve being designed such that the at least one material valve is able to be pneumatically activated by air from the at least one first valve outlet region,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the at least one material valve can assume at least one first terminal position in which the at least one material valve is closed, one second terminal position in which the at least one material valve is completely opened, and at least one intermediate position in which the at least one material valve is partially opened,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the at least one activation element can assume at least one first terminal position in which the at least one activation element is non-activated, one second terminal position in which the at least one activation element is completely activated, and at least one intermediate position in which the at least one activation element is partially activated,
- wherein the position of the at least one activation element determines the position of the at least one material valve,
- wherein the spray gun further comprises a material valve activation device that includes an air chamber,
- wherein the air chamber on at least one side is delimited by at least one material valve activation element for activating the at least one material valve, the at least one material valve activation element comprising a piston,
- wherein the air chamber includes an air inlet and an air outlet that are disposed in front of the piston,
- wherein an air outlet valve is arranged in the air outlet and comprises a throttle valve and/or a pressure relief valve,
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that the pressure in front of the piston is determined by a combination of the quantity of air supplied via the air inlet to the air chamber and the quantity of air flowing out of the air outlet valve, and
- wherein the spray gun is designed such that, when the at least one activation element is held in the at least one intermediate position in which the at least one activation element is partially activated, the pressure in front of the piston holds the piston in an intermediate position, which holds the at least one material valve in the at least one intermediate position in which the at least one material valve is partially opened.
