Information processing apparatus using parallax in images captured from a plurality of directions, method and storage medium

An image capturing system comprising:

• a first stereo camera including a plurality of cameras;
• a second stereo camera including a plurality of cameras and having a time variation in a camera parameter smaller than that of the first stereo camera;
• a processor;
• and
• a memory coupled to the processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to function as:
• an image acquisition unit configured to acquire first images captured by the first stereo camera and second images captured by the second stereo camera;
• an index detection unit configured to detect first information about an index appearing on the first images and second information about the index appearing on the second images;
• and
• a correction unit configured to correct parallax in the first images acquired by the image acquisition unit, or to correct a depth value calculated from the corrected parallax, based on the first information and the second information,
• wherein the first information comprises a three-dimensional distance between two points included in the index calculated based on triangulation using the first images, and the second information comprises a three-dimensional distance between two points included in the index calculated based on triangulation using the second images, and the correction unit uses the second information as a correct answer value.
