Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, comprising:

• an electrode assembly having a positive electrode and a negative electrode;
• and an outer casing that houses the electrode assembly, wherein
• the negative electrode includes a negative electrode core and a negative electrode mixture layer formed on a surface of the negative electrode core;
• the negative electrode mixture layer contains a negative electrode active material having a tap density of 1.00 g/cm3 to 1.20 g/cm3, carboxy methyl cellulose (CMC) at a content of 0.6% by mass to 0.8% by mass in the negative electrode mixture layer, and styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) at a content of 0.4% by mass to 0.8% by mass in the negative electrode mixture layer;
• a mass ratio of the CMC content to the SBR content in the negative electrode mixture layer is smaller than 2;
• a total content of the CMC and the SBR in the negative electrode mixture layer is less than 1.5% by mass;
• and
• wherein oil absorption of the negative electrode active material is 43 ml/100 g to 52 ml/100 g.
