Standard compliant data collection during a communication session

A system comprising:

• one or more computer processors;
• and
• one or more computer memories storing a set of instructions that, when executed by the one or more computer processors, cause the one or more computer processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• establishing a communication session between a user device and an agent device;
• receiving an authorization to collect sensitive data from the user device;
• in response to the receiving of the authorization,
• suspending the communication session between the user device and the agent device,
• invoking, via an application programming interface (API) command of a standard compliant data collection system, a standard compliant data collection mode that causes communications within the communication session to be temporarily routed to the standard compliant data collection system, and causes the sensitive data to be collected during the standard compliant data collection mode based on configuration data included in the API command, wherein the configuration data defines parameters for customizing operations of the standard compliant data collection system including one or more parameters defining a customizable message flow for collecting the sensitive data, and one or more parameters for controlling presentation of prompts during the message flow,
• receiving, from the standard compliant data collection system, a notification, wherein the notification comprises information that the sensitive data of the user device has been collected;
• and
• in response to receiving the notification,
• ending the standard compliant data collection mode, wherein the ending the standard compliant data collection mode further comprises terminating the secure connection with the standard compliant data collection system, and
• re-establishing the communication session between the user device and the agent device.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by one or more computer processors of a system, cause the one or more computer processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• establishing a communication session between a user device and an agent device;
• receiving an authorization to collect sensitive data from the user device;
• in response to the receiving of the authorization,
• suspending the communication session between the user device and the agent device,
• invoking, via an application programming interface (API) command of a standard compliant data collection system, a standard compliant data collection mode that causes communications within the communication session to be temporarily routed to the standard compliant data collection system, and causes the sensitive data to be collected during the standard compliant data collection mode based on configuration data included in the API command, wherein the configuration data defines parameters for customizing operations of the standard compliant data collection system including one or more parameters defining a customizable message flow for collecting the sensitive data, and one or more parameters for controlling presentation of prompts during the message flow,
• receiving, from the standard compliant data collection system, a notification, wherein the notification comprises information that the sensitive data of the user device has been collected;
• and
• in response to receiving the notification,
• ending the standard compliant data collection session mode, wherein the ending the standard compliant data collection mode further comprises terminating the secure connection with the user device, and
• re-establishing the communication session between the user device and the agent device.
