Abstract
In some aspects, the techniques described herein relate to a system including: a storage array; a controller configured to detect a shutdown event; and an auto-measure circuit configured to: generate a plurality of measurements corresponding to a plurality of layers of a boot sequence, each layer including executable code used to generate a respective measurement; compare the plurality of measurements to a respective plurality of golden measurements; update flags associated with the plurality of layers based on the comparing; and instruct the controller to shut down the system after updating the flags.
Claims17
A system comprising:
- a storage array;
- a controller configured to detect a shutdown event;
- and
- an auto-measure circuit configured to:
- generate, during a shutdown sequence initiated by the shutdown event, a plurality of measurements corresponding to a plurality of layers of a boot sequence, each layer comprising executable code used to generate a respective measurement;
- compare the plurality of measurements to a respective plurality of golden measurements;
- update flags associated with the plurality of layers based on the comparing;
- instruct the controller to shut down the system after updating the flags;
- and
- perform a forced reboot after detecting the shutdown event and before generating the plurality of measurements.
A method comprising:
- detecting a shutdown event of a device;
- generating, during a shutdown sequence initiated by the shutdown event, a plurality of measurements corresponding to a plurality of layers of a boot sequence, each layer comprising executable code used to generate a respective measurement;
- comparing the plurality of measurements to a respective plurality of golden measurements;
- updating flags associated with the plurality of layers based on the comparing;
- shutting down the device after updating the flags;
- and
- performing a forced reboot after detecting the shutdown event and before generating the plurality of measurements.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium for tangibly storing computer program instructions capable of being executed by a computer processor, the computer program instructions defining steps of:
- detecting a shutdown event of a device;
- generating, during a shutdown sequence initiated by the shutdown event, a plurality of measurements corresponding to a plurality of layers of a boot sequence, each layer comprising executable code used to generate a respective measurement;
- comparing the plurality of measurements to a respective plurality of golden measurements;
- updating flags associated with the plurality of layers based on the comparing;
- shutting down the device after updating the flags;
- and
- performing a forced reboot after detecting the shutdown event and before generating the plurality of measurements.
