Abstract
Method and systems are provided for adaptive collection of telemetry by an Information Handling System (IHS). A validation failure of a hardware component of the IHS is detected, where the hardware component is part a chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS. A position of the hardware component is determined within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS. The collection of telemetry by the IHS is adjusted based on the position of the hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS.
Claims20
A method for adaptive collection of telemetry by an Information Handling System (IHS), the method comprising:
- detecting a validation failure of a first hardware component of the IHS, wherein the first hardware component is a part of a chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- determining a position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- and
- adjusting collection of telemetry by the IHS based on the position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage device having instructions stored thereon for adaptive collection of telemetry by an IHS (Information Handling System), wherein execution of the instructions by one or more processors causes the one or more processors to:
- detect a validation failure of a first hardware component of the IHS, wherein the first hardware component is a part of a chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- determine a position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- and
- adjust collection of telemetry by the IHS based on the position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS.
An Information Handling System (IHS) supporting adaptive telemetry, the IHS comprising:
- one or more processors;
- a memory coupled to the processors, the memory storing program instructions that, upon execution by the processors, cause a policy decision point operating on the IHS to:
- detect a validation failure of a first hardware component of the IHS, wherein the first hardware component is a part of a chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- determine a position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS;
- and
- adjust collection of telemetry by the IHS based on the position of the first hardware component within the chain of trusted hardware components of the IHS.
