Automated software validation for continuous deployment in an information processing system

A method comprising:

• evaluating, via an automated software validation engine, software code to be deployed in an execution environment;
• identifying, via the automated software validation engine, one or more factors that affect deployment of the software code in the execution environment;
• and
• automatically validating, via the automated software validation engine, the one or more factors prior to deployment of software code in the execution environment, the automatically validating comprising at least automatically verifying the existence of one or more variable declarations associated with a deployment script;
• wherein the automated software validation engine is implemented by at least one processing device comprising a processor coupled to a memory configured to execute program code.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory processor-readable storage medium having stored therein program code of one or more software programs, wherein the program code when executed by at least one processing device cause the at least one processing device to operate as an automated software validation engine configured to:

• evaluate software code to be deployed in an execution environment;
• identify one or more factors that affect deployment of the software code in the execution environment;
• and
• automatically validate the one or more factors prior to deployment of software code in the execution environment, the automatically validating comprising at least automatically verifying the existence of one or more variable declarations associated with a deployment script.
