Abstract
An image acquisition unit acquires a phase contrast image consisting of a plurality of phases, in which a pixel value of each pixel represents a velocity of fluid, the phase contrast image being acquired by imaging a subject including a structure inside which fluid flows by a phase contrast magnetic resonance method. An identification unit identifies a region of the structure in the phase contrast image on the basis of a maximum value of the velocity of the fluid between corresponding pixels in each of the phases of the phase contrast image.
Claims10
A region identification device comprising:
- at least one processor, configured to:
- acquire a phase contrast image consisting of a plurality of phases, in which a pixel value of each pixel represents a velocity of fluid, the phase contrast image being acquired by imaging a subject including a structure inside which fluid flows by a phase contrast magnetic resonance method;
- and
- identify a region of the structure by:
- (i) deriving, for each pixel location, velocity vectors per phase and selecting a maximum phase at which the velocity magnitude is maximized;
- (ii) specifying, in the phase including a maximum pixel, specified pixels that satisfy spatiotemporal coherence criteria such that differences in magnitude and direction of the velocity relative to surrounding pixels and to corresponding pixels in at least one adjacent phase are smaller than respective references;
- (iii) counting the specified pixels per phase to determine the maximum phase in which the number of the specified pixels is maximized;
- (iv) obtaining, in the maximum phase and in at least one adjacent phase, phase specific regions consisting of the specified pixels;
- and
- (v) combining the phase specific regions to obtain the region of the structure across the phases.

- (iii) counting the specified pixels per phase to determine the maximum phase in which the number of the specified pixels is maximized;
- (iv) obtaining, in the maximum phase and in at least one adjacent phase, phase specific regions consisting of the specified pixels;
- and
- (v) combining the phase specific regions to obtain the region of the structure across the phases.
A non-transitory computer readable recording medium storing a region identification program causing a computer to execute:

- (iv) obtaining, in the maximum phase and in at least one adjacent phase, phase specific regions consisting of the specified pixels;
- and
- (v) combining the phase specific regions to obtain the region of the structure across the phases.
