Abstract
In a rotor for a fluid pump which is made radially compressible and expandable and has a hub and at least one conveying element which has a plurality of struts and at least one membrane which can be spanned between them, provision is made for a design in accordance with the invention which is as simple and inexpensive as possible that at least one first group of struts is pivotable in a pivot plane, starting from a common base, and can thus be spanned open in the manner of a fan, wherein the conveying element lies along the hub and contacts it over its full length in the expanded state to avoid a pressure loss at the margin of the conveying element between it and the hub and thus to realize an optimum efficiency.
Claims13
A radially compressible and expandable rotor for an intravascular blood pump, the rotor comprising:
- a hub including at least a first cutout;
- and
- at least a first conveying element for conveying blood, the first conveying element including a first plurality of struts coupled to the hub,
- wherein the first plurality of struts are pivotable relative to the hub from a closed configuration into an open configuration, and
- wherein each strut of the first plurality of struts is at least partly received in the first cutout in the closed configuration,
- wherein at least one strut of the first plurality of struts has a first portion extending over a first length of the at least one strut and a second portion extending from the first portion over a second length of the at least one strut, wherein the second portion extends at an angle relative to the first portion,
- wherein the first portion extends within a pivot plane of the at least one strut and the second portion extends out of the pivot plane.
