Abstract
A communication apparatus is provided that is configured to perform an operation in a first mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a child station, and an operation in a second mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a parent station. The communication apparatus includes a control unit configured to perform control in such a manner that a channel which the communication apparatus uses in the second mode is not used in search while the communication apparatus is operating in the second mode.

A communication apparatus configured to perform an operation in a first mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a child station in accordance with a predetermined wireless communication standard, and an operation in a second mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a parent station in accordance with the predetermined wireless communication standard, the communication apparatus comprising:
- a search unit configured to perform search according to the predetermined wireless communication standard for one or more access points;
- an establishment unit configured to establish a wireless connection between an access point from the one or more access points discovered in the search by the search unit and the communication apparatus operating in the first mode using a channel used to discover the access point;
- and
- a control unit configured to perform control in such a manner that a channel which the communication apparatus uses in the second mode is not used in the search by the search unit while the communication apparatus is operating in the second mode.
A control method for a communication apparatus configured to perform an operation in a first mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a child station in a predetermined wireless communication standard, and an operation in a second mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a parent station in the predetermined wireless communication standard, the control method comprising:
- performing search according to the predetermined wireless communication standard for one or more access points;
- establishing a wireless connection between an access point from the one or more access points discovered in the search and the communication apparatus operating in the first mode using a channel used to discover the access point;
- and
- performing control in such a manner that a channel which the communication apparatus uses in the second mode is not used in the search while the communication apparatus is operating in the second mode.
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to perform a control method for a communication apparatus configured to perform an operation in a first mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a child station in a predetermined wireless communication standard, and an operation in a second mode in which the communication apparatus operates as a parent station in the predetermined wireless communication standard, the control method comprising:
- performing search according to the predetermined wireless communication standard for one or more access points;
- establishing a wireless connection between an access point from the one or more access points discovered in the search and the communication apparatus operating in the first mode using a channel used to discover the access point;
- and
- performing control in such a manner that a channel which the communication apparatus uses in the second mode is not used in the search while the communication apparatus is operating in the second mode.
