Abstract
A device includes a memory that stores a User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) and a processor. The processor is configured to: receive a signal broadcast from an access station; obtain network slice congestion information from the signal; apply the URSP to the network slice congestion information to select a network slice; and establish a session with the selected network slice.

A device comprising:
- a memory for storing User Equipment Route Selection Policy (URSP) rules, wherein each of the URSP rules specifies one or more routes, within a cellular network, based on traffic information and
- a processor configured to:
- receive a signal broadcast from an access station;
- extract, from the signal, network slice congestion information that indicates a level of congestion at each of one or more network slices;
- apply the URSP rules to the network slice congestion information to select a network slice;
- and
- establish a session with the selected network slice.

- receiving a signal broadcast from an access station;
- extracting, from the signal, network slice congestion information that indicates a level of congestion at each of one or more network slices;
