Abstract
The disclosure relates to a 5th generation (5G) or 6th generation (6G) communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. A method for configuring a quality measurement by a network node in a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes receiving, from a user equipment (UE), performance information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service, transmitting, to the UE, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement, and receiving, from the UE, a QoE measurement report including at least one of the parameters.
Claims12
A method for configuring a quality measurement by a base station in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:
- receiving, from a user equipment (UE), capability information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service;
- transmitting, to the UE, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement;
- and
- receiving, from the UE, a QoE measurement report including a number of packet data units (PDUs) in a PDU set, a number of PDUs lost in the PDU set, and a PDU loss rate in the PDU set, based on the QoE measurement configuration,
- wherein the PDU loss rate in the PDU set is determined as a ratio of the number of PDUs lost to the number of PDUs in the PDU set, and
- wherein the PDU set is related to the XR service.
A method for performing a quality measurement by a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system, the method comprising:
- transmitting, to a base station, capability information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service;
- receiving, from the base station, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement;
- and
- transmitting, to the base station, a QoE measurement report including a number of packet data units (PDUs) in a PDU set, a number of PDUs lost in the PDU set, and a PDU loss rate in the PDU set, based on the QoE measurement configuration,
- wherein the PDU loss rate in the PDU set is determined as a ratio of the number of PDUs lost to the number of PDUs in the PDU set, and
- wherein the PDU set is related to the XR service.
A base station for configuring a quality measurement in a mobile communication system, the base station comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive, from a user equipment (UE), capability information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service,
- transmit, to the UE, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement, and
- receive, from the UE, a QoE measurement report including a number of packet data units (PDUs) in a PDU set, a number of PDUs lost in the PDU set, and a PDU loss rate in the PDU set, based on the QoE measurement configuration,
- wherein the PDU loss rate in the PDU set is determined as a ratio of the number of PDUs lost to the number of PDUs in the PDU set, and
- wherein the PDU set is related to the XR service.
A user equipment (UE) for performing a quality measurement in a mobile communication system, the UE comprising:
- a transceiver;
- and
- at least one processor coupled to the transceiver, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- transmit, to a base station, capability information indicating that the UE supports a quality of experience (QoE) measurement for an extended reality (XR) service,
- receive, from the base station, a QoE measurement configuration indicating parameters to be reported for the QoE measurement, and
- transmit, to the base station, a QoE measurement report including a number of packet data units (PDUs) in a PDU set, a number of PDUs lost in the PDU set, and a PDU loss rate in the PDU set, based on the QoE measurement configuration,
- wherein the PDU loss rate in the PDU set is determined as a ratio of the number of PDUs lost to the number of PDUs in the PDU set, and
- wherein the PDU set is related to the XR service.
