Enabling coordinated identity management between an operator-managed mobile-edge platform and an external network

A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) comprising an edge client, the WTRU comprising:

• a receiver;
• a transmitter;
• and
• a processor, wherein:
• the transmitter is configured to send a subscription request for cell identities (IDs) associated with an Edge Data Network (EDN);
• the receiver is configured to receive policy information, in response to the subscription request sent by the WTRU, wherein the policy information comprises information to access edge data services in the EDN, wherein the policy information comprises the cell IDs associated with the EDN;
• the receiver is further configured to receive security credential information, wherein the security credential information comprises an access token, wherein the security credential information is based on a WTRU identity;
• the processor is configured to determine that the WTRU is camped on a cell having a cell ID associated with the EDN;
• and
• the receiver and the processor are further configured to establish a communication session with a node in the EDN using the security credential information.
