Abstract
An application for mobile devices that enables a server device to control multiple client devices with numerous features and capabilities relevant to both server and client devices, such as learning gamification and safety controls. Running on popular operating systems, this application is compatible with other mobile applications and provides a mechanism for the server device to override internal controls on one or more client devices with ability to configure access controls based on gamification features using parameters that include but not limited to applications, programs, goals, and rewards. This application includes safety and security control features that enables the server device to remotely monitor and control one or more client devices.
Claims16
A method for enabling a server device to control one or associated client devices, the method comprising:
- providing a server device having a control application loaded thereon and a user interface, wherein the user interface enables a server device user of the server device to control the one or more associated client devices via the control application;
- installing the control application via the user interface to each of the one or more associated client devices controllable by the server device;
- connecting the server device and each of the one or more client devices to a wireless network;
- providing bi-directional communication between the server device and each of the one or more associated client devices via the wireless network, wherein the bi-directional communication allows the control application of the server device to manage application configurations and settings of each of the one or more associated client device;
- and
- controlling the one or more client devices comprising:
- providing a dashboard on the control application of the server device for overseeing usage on each of the one or more client devices;
- setting one or more goals on the control application, wherein the server device user sets the one or more goals to be performed by one or more client device users of the one or more associated client devices or by the server device user;
- wherein setting the one or more goals includes configuring the one or more goals to be associated to one or more rewards according to field attributes of a data model, wherein:
- the field attributes for the one or more goals include a requirement and an expectation;
- the field attributes for the one or more rewards include a result and benefit, the result including at least one of an application, a task, an activity, one or more points per an occurrence of the requirement, and an award, the benefiting including at least one of a time period, an expiration date, a limit per occurrence of the result, and a benefit score;
- determining a status of the one or more goals for each of the one or more client device users and the server device user, wherein determining the status includes receiving input data from the wireless network or from the server device user, wherein input data includes data associated with the requirement and the expectation, wherein determining the status includes one of a rewards manager, a goals manager, or a combined goals/rewards manager on the control application of the server;
- and
- issuing one or more rewards to a respective one of the one or more client device users or the server device user, in response to determining the client device user or the server device user has performed one or more of the one or more goals according to the expectation.
A method for a control application, the method comprising:
- providing a server device and one or more associated client devices having the control application loaded thereon, wherein the server device can control the one or more associated client devices via the control application, and wherein the server device and the one or more associated client devices are operable to connect to a wireless network and communicate with bi-directional communication via the wireless network;
- setting goals to be performed by a client user of each of the one or more associated client devices on the control application of the server device, wherein the goals are created by a server user of the server device, and wherein the goals include a requirement and an expectation;
- configuring one or more goals on the control application based on at least one of:
- a task, an application, a program, and an activity;
- and
- a time limit, a score, and a number of occurrences;
- wherein configuring the one or more goals includes configuring one or more rewards to be associated with the one or more goals, wherein the one or more rewards are configured based on at least one of:
- an application, an activity, a task, a program, one or more points per an occurrence of the requirement, and an award;
- and
- a time period, an expiration date, a limit per occurrence of a result, and a benefit score;
- and
- issuing the one or more rewards to the client user of the one or more associated client devices via one of a rewards manager, a goals manager, or a combined goals/rewards manager on the control application in response to determining the client user has performed an assigned goal in accordance with the a time limit, a score, or a number of occurrences.
A method performed by a control application on a server device, the method comprising:
- providing a server device and one or more associated client devices having the control application loaded thereon, wherein the server device and the one or more associated client devices are operable to connect to a wireless network and communicate with bi-directional communication via the wireless network;
- controlling one or more client devices via the control application on the server device, wherein the controlling the one or more client devices includes:
- enabling the server device to receive, monitor, and view usage history for each of the one or more client devices;
- and
- receiving, from each of the one or more client devices, usage history reports or logs with a date and time stamp and one or more of details on applications accessed, time duration by application, URL's accessed, time duration by URL, tasks completed, time to complete tasks, incomplete tasks, time duration by activity, activities completed, time to complete activities, and incomplete activities;
- configuring one or more goals on the control application of the server device, wherein a server user of the server device configures the one or more goals to be performed by the server user or a client user for each of the one or more client devices, wherein the one or more goals are configured to include a plurality of requirements and a plurality of expectations, the plurality of requirements including at least one of a task, an application, a program, and an activity, the plurality of the expectations including at least one of a time limit, a score, and a number of occurrences;
- wherein configuring the one or more goals includes configuring one or more rewards to be associated with the one or more goals;
- determining a status the one or more goals by one of a rewards manager, a goals manager, or a combined goals/rewards manager on the control application via input data communicated by the wireless network;
- issuing the one or more rewards to the server user or the client user via one of the rewards manager, the goals manager, or the combined goals/rewards manager in response to determining the server user or the client user has performed one of the one or more goals in accordance with the plurality of requirements and the plurality of expectations.
