Abstract
There is provided a photoelectric composite module according to the present disclosure including: a first connecting member having an outer frame having a tubular shape, and a plurality of contacts provided in an interior of the outer frame; a first printed board on which a photoelectric conversion element configured to convert an electrical signal into an optical signal is mounted, and which is configured to act as a relay between the contacts and the photoelectric conversion element; and a second printed board configured to act as a relay between the contacts and an electrical signal cable. The first printed board and the second printed board are three-dimensionally arranged.

A medical connector comprising:
- a first connecting member having an outer frame and a plurality of signal transmission paths provided in an interior of the outer frame;
- a first printed board coupled to a first part of the signal transmission paths and on which is mounted a photoelectric converter configured to convert an electrical signal into an optical signal, the electrical signal being output from an image sensor in an imaging device;
- and
- a second printed board coupled to a second part of the signal transmission paths different from the first part of the signal transmission paths,
- wherein the first printed board and the second printed board are located in geometrically different planes from each other,
- wherein the optical signal output from the photoelectric converter is transmitted over the first part of the signal transmission paths, and
- wherein a control signal for controlling operation of the imaging device transmitted over the second part of the signal transmission paths.
An endoscope system including:
- electrical imaging circuitry configured to generate an electrical image signal;
- and
- a photoelectric composite module, separated from the electrical imaging circuitry by a wall, that includes:
- a first connecting member having an outer frame and a plurality of signal transmission paths provided in an interior of the outer frame;
- a first printed board coupled to a first part of the signal transmission paths and on which is mounted a photoelectric converter configured to convert the electrical image signal into an optical signal;
- and
- a second printed board coupled to a second part of the signal transmission paths different from the first part of the signal transmission paths,
- wherein the first printed board and the second printed board are located in geometrically different planes from each other,
- wherein the optical signal output from the photoelectric converter is transmitted over the first part of the signal transmission paths, and
- wherein a control signal for controlling operation of the electrical imaging circuitry is transmitted over the second part of the signal transmission paths.
A medical connector connectable to a second connector, the second connector including a first connecting member having a plurality of signal transmission paths, a first printed board coupled to a first part of the signal transmission paths and on which is mounted a photoelectric converter configured to convert an electrical signal into an optical signal, the electrical signal being output from an image sensor in an imaging device, and a second printed board coupled to a second part of the signal transmission paths different from the first part of the signal transmission paths, the first printed board and the second printed board being located in geometrically different planes from each other, the optical signal output from the photoelectric converter being transmitted over the first part of the signal transmission paths, and a control signal for controlling operation of the imaging device being transmitted over the second part of the signal transmission paths, the medical connector comprising:
- an outer frame;
- a first region within the outer frame, the first region including a first contact couplable to the first portion of the signal transmission path of the second connector, the first contact being configured to transmit the signal output from the image sensor of the imaging device;
- and
- a second region within the outer frame, the second region including a second contact couplable to the second portion of the signal transmission path of the second connector, the second contact being configured to transmit the control signal for the imaging device, wherein
- the first contact is located along a first direction orthogonal to the central axis of the outer frame, and
- the second contact is located along the first direction and offset from the first contact in a second direction, orthogonal to the first direction and the central axis of the outer frame.
