Providing off-the-record functionality during virtual meetings

A system comprising:

• a communications interface;
• a non-transitory computer-readable medium;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute processor-executable instructions stored in the non-transitory computer-readable medium to:
• record to a conference recording, during a virtual conference, audio and video streams exchanged between participant client devices connected to the virtual conference;
• receive an off-the-record request from a first participant client device;
• continue to provide audio and video streams received from the first participant client device to other participant client devices connected to the virtual conference;
• and
• exclude one or more of the audio or video streams received from the first participant client device from the conference recording.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising processor-executable instructions configured to cause one or more processors to:

• record to a conference recording, during a virtual conference, audio and video streams exchanged between participant client devices connected to the virtual conference;
• receive an off-the-record request from a first participant client device;
• continue to provide audio and video streams received from the first participant client device to other participant client devices connected to the virtual conference;
• and
• exclude one or more of the audio or video streams received from the first participant client device from the conference recording.
