A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium that stores therein a program for causing a server apparatus configured to manage a session when bidirectional communication is performed by a first terminal and a second terminal, to execute a process of
- determining whether the session having an identifier specified in a connection request is maintained based on whether one or more terminals are connected to the session, in response to an event in which the connection request specifying the identifier specified in the connection request to which the first terminal had been connected is transmitted from the first terminal after the bidirectional communication by the first terminal is disconnected,
- newly generating a session having the identifier specified in the connection request upon determining that the session is not maintained, and
- connecting the first terminal to the newly generated session and connecting the second terminal to the newly generated session according to a connection request from the second terminal, to resume the bidirectional communication by the first terminal and the second terminal.
