Abstract
A method for running a telematics service via a Telematic Control Unit (TCU) of a vehicle is disclosed. The method includes measuring one or more temperatures at the TCU, Comparing the measured temperatures with one or more thresholds, and determining whether or not to run the telematics service depending on a result of the comparison between the measured and threshold temperatures as well as a delay-sensitivity of the telematics service.
Claims12
A method for running a telematics service via a Telematic Control Unit (TCU) of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- measuring one or more temperatures at the TCU;
- comparing the one or more measured temperatures to one or more thresholds;
- depending on a result of the comparison between the measured temperatures and the thresholds, and on a delay-sensitivity of the telematics service, determining whether or not to run the telematics service;
- determining a thermal state of the TCU, from a low temperature state to a high temperature state, based on the comparison between the measured temperatures and the thresholds;
- sharing, via a publish-subscribe protocol, the determined thermal state with other entities that are subscribers of the publish-subscribe protocol;
- and
- periodically re-assessing the delay-sensitivity of the service at one or more subscribers.
