Fortified decoupled state machine replication

A system, comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• a memory comprising instructions stored thereon, which when executed by the one or more processors, causes the one or more processors to:
• issue one or more transactions from an account, the account comprising a bond balance locked in the account by a user upon creation of the account and each transaction associated with a transaction ID and an expiry time;
• partition the transactions to a set of validators based on a temporal partitioning scheme, wherein each validator is authorized to replicate transactions for the account during a corresponding epoch;
• produce, at the set of validators, chunks including the transactions;
• replicate the chunks to nodes in a blockchain network;
• generate, based on receiving at least a threshold of stake signatures from the nodes, blocks that reference the replicated chunks;
• and
• distribute, from the bond balance, funds to the nodes for including the replicated chunks in the blocks, wherein the funds are distributed either as transaction fees for valid transactions or as compensation for invalid transactions.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions stored thereon, which when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations in a blockchain network, comprising:

• receiving one or more transactions from an account, the account comprising a bond balance locked in the account by a user upon creation of the account, and each of the transactions are associated with a transaction identification (ID) and an expiry time;
• periodically partitioning, based on the account, the transactions to a subset of validators in the blockchain network enabled to receive transactions from the account;
• replicating the chunks to nodes in the blockchain network based on a temporal partitioning scheme, wherein each validator is authorized to replicate transactions for the account during a corresponding epoch;
• generating, based on receiving at least a threshold of stake signatures from the nodes, blocks that reference the replicated chunks;
• and
• distributing, from the bond balance, funds to the nodes for including the replicated chunks in the blocks, wherein the funds are distributed either as transaction fees for valid transactions or as compensation for invalid transactions.
