Systems and methods for real-time account access

A system for processing a payment transaction, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory containing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform a method comprising:
• receiving a transaction request, the transaction request comprising a data structure, the data structure configurable to be in a first mode or a second mode and comprising information relating to a transaction, including an identifier generated based on account credentials, wherein the account credentials do not include an account number or a card number;
• locating, based on the data structure being in the second mode, the identifier in the data structure;
• determining routing information for the transaction request based on the identifier, wherein determining the routing information includes consulting a data store based on the identifier;
• routing the transaction request to an accounting computer system based on the determined routing information and an existence of the identifier within the data structure;
• receiving a response from the accounting computer system;
• and
• determining whether to approve or deny the transaction request based on the response.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that when executed by at least one processor cause the at least one processor to perform a method comprising:

• receiving a transaction request, the transaction request comprising a data structure, the data structure configurable to be in a first mode or a second mode and comprising information relating to a transaction, including an identifier generated based on account credentials, wherein the account credentials do not include an account number or a card number;
• locating, based on the data structure being in the second mode, the identifier in the data structure;
• determining routing information for the transaction request based on the identifier, wherein determining the routing information includes consulting a data store based on the identifier;
• routing the transaction request to an accounting computer system based on the determined routing information and an existence of the identifier within the data structure;
• receiving a response from the accounting computer system;
• and
• determining whether to approve or deny the transaction request based on the response.
