Eye tracking based selection of a user interface (UI) element based on targeting criteria

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing one or more programs, the one or more programs comprising instructions, which, when executed by an electronic device with one or more processors, and a display, cause the electronic device to:

• display, on the display, a first user interface (UI) element having a first selection region and a second selection region;
• and
• after displaying the first UI element with the first selection region and the second selection region:
• determine, based on eye tracking data, that a targeting criterion is satisfied with respect to the first selection region or the second selection region based on a gaze cone and a depth between the first UI element and the electronic device;
• and
• select the first UI element based at least in part on determining that the targeting criterion is satisfied.

An electronic device comprising:

• one or more processors;
• a non-transitory memory;
• a display;
• and
• one or more programs, wherein the one or more programs are stored in the non-transitory memory and configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for:
• displaying, on the display, a first user interface (UI) element having a first selection region and a second selection region;
• and
• after displaying the first UI element with the first selection region and the second selection region:
• determining, based on eye tracking data, that a targeting criterion is satisfied with respect to the first selection region or the second selection region based on a gaze cone and a depth between the first UI element and the electronic device;
• and
• selecting the first UI element based at least in part on determining that the targeting criterion is satisfied.
