A method for reference time setting of the displays of a sympathetic watch by a sympathetic clock forming a sympathetic assembly with the watch. At any time, the reference time setting of the watch is performed by a first phase during which the placement in the reference position is triggered, by a first displacement of an interface between the clock and the watch, the reference time setting of the displays, and the coupling mechanism is uncoupled to allow the rack to drive the display gear train of the watch in the counter-clockwise direction, over as many revolutions as necessary, until the pawl meets the ratchet tooth opening of the hour cam, then the time-setting mechanism controlled by the clock sets the time of the displays of the watch in the clockwise direction to the exact time by recoiling the rack, then the coupling mechanism is recoupled.
A method for setting to a reference time of a sympathetic watch (200) by a sympathetic clock (100), with which said watch (200) forms a sympathetic assembly (1000) including a connection mechanism including at least two distinct transmission lines between said clock (100) and said watch (200) when said watch (200) is deposited in a receptacle (150) included in said clock (100), in a transfer position, said watch (200) including at least one resonator (10), and a display gear train and a finishing gear train, and, or else a stop mechanism (20) arranged to stop the operation of said resonator (10), and said watch (200) including at least one hour display (4) and one minute display (5), a reference position of which is defined, wherein one said watch (200) is used including a rack (823) meshed with an hour wheel (808) integral with said hour display of the watch (4) and carrying an hour cam (802) including a ratchet tooth notch, a pawl (801) which is bearingly held on said hour cam (802) by a pawl spring (8010), said rack (823) being arranged to click in the clockwise direction of said hour wheel (808), and being driven by a return spring (825), said watch (200) further including a rack pinion (824) or hour pinion, which rack pinion (824) being arranged to drive and coil said rack (823), which clicks with each tooth, during normal operation of said watch (200) when said watch (200) does not cooperate with said clock (100), said watch (200) further including a coupling mechanism (806) between the display gear train (805;
