Abstract
A method for use with a subterranean well can include deploying a plugging device and anchor into the well, conveying the anchor into a perforation and blocking fluid flow through the perforation with the plugging device. A system for use with a subterranean well can include a plugging device configured to engage and block fluid flow through a perforation in the well, and an anchor attached to the plugging device, the anchor being configured to grip an interior surface of the perforation.
Claims19
A method for use with a subterranean well, the method comprising:
- deploying a plugging device and anchor into the well;
- conveying the anchor into a perforation, in which the anchor comprises at least one elongated resilient member which is inclined toward the plugging device, thereby preventing passage of the anchor back through the perforation during reverse differential pressure events;
- and
- blocking fluid flow through the perforation with the plugging device.
A system for use with a subterranean well, the system comprising:
- a plugging device configured to engage and block fluid flow through a perforation in the well;
- and
- an anchor attached to the plugging device, in which the anchor comprises at least one elongated resilient member which is inclined toward the plugging device, whereby the resilient member is configured to, when engaged in the perforation, prevent passage of the anchor back through the perforation during reverse differential pressure events.
