Abstract
The present invention provides methods and compositions for reducing internalization and/or trafficking of tau in neuronal cells comprising contacting the cells with an effective amount of an LRP1 and/or SorLA antagonist. The invention further provides a method of treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of an LRP1 and/or SorLA antagonist.
Claims9
A method of reducing tau internalization and/or trafficking in neuronal cells to treat Alzheimer's disease in a subject, comprising contacting the neuronal cells of the subject with i) an effective amount of a SorLA antagonist;
- or ii) an effective amount of an LRP1 antagonist and a SorLA antagonist, wherein the SorLA antagonist is an siRNA and the LRP1 antagonist is receptor associated protein (RAP) or a fragment thereof comprising the D3 domain.
