Abstract
An exemplary fuel cell ship is a fuel cell ship for propelling a hull by using electric power supplied from a fuel cell that generates electric power through an electrochemical reaction of fuel, and includes a tank compartment installed therein with a fuel tank that stores the fuel. The tank compartment is provided below a deck of the hull and provided separately from other compartments.
Claims11
A fuel cell ship for propelling a hull by using electric power supplied by a fuel cell configured to generate electric power through an electrochemical reaction of fuel, the fuel cell ship comprising:
- a tank compartment installed therein with a fuel tank configured to store the fuel, wherein the tank compartment is provided below a deck of the hull separately from other compartments;
- a gas filling pipe having a distal end connected to the fuel tank and a proximal end outside the tank compartment;
- a vent pipe connected to the tank compartment and extending to a distal end of the vent pipe outside the hull such that air from inside the tank compartment is directed to outside the hull;
- an air supply pipe connected to the tank compartment, wherein an end of the air supply pipe is disposed above the deck;
- and
- an external gas detector that detects a combustible gas and is disposed at the end of the air supply pipe.
