Abstract
A printer includes a cutter unit attachable to and detachable from a printer body, wherein the cutter unit includes a cutter unit body configured to hold a cutter blade that cuts a print medium, and a cutter unit cover having a discharge port configured to allow the print medium to be discharged therethrough, and pivotally supported by an opening and closing shaft so as to be openable and closable with respect to the cutter unit body.

A printer comprising:
- a cutter unit attachable to and detachable from a printer body, wherein the cutter unit comprises:
- a cutter unit body configured to hold a cutter blade that is configured to cut a print medium, the cutter unit body comprising:
- a first plate portion and a second plate portion, together defining an insertion opening through which the print medium is insertable, and
- a cutter unit body opening extending through the cutter unit body, wherein the cutter unit body opening is distinct from the insertion opening, and a part of a surface of the cutter blade facing the printer body is exposed through the cutter unit body opening, and
- a cutter unit cover having a discharge port configured to allow the print medium to be discharged therethrough, and pivotally supported by an opening and closing shaft so as to be openable and closable with respect to the cutter unit body.
