Abstract
A sunglass lens for providing ocular photo-bio-stimulation, while also providing eye protection from sunlight, clear vision, and proper color vision to safely drive.
Claims29
A sunglass lens comprising a filter, wherein the sunglass lens transmits 350 lux or more of light intensity within a range of light wavelengths having a 40% or greater light transmission peak, wherein the range of light wavelengths covers a majority of absorption spectra of melanopsin and rhodopsin and also partially covers absorption curves or spectra of at least some opsins of an eye's cones, wherein the sunglass lens provides a visible light transmission (VLT) through the sunglass lens within a range of 30% or less, and wherein the sunglass lens provides color balance transmission of light wavelengths, thereby allowing the sunglass lens to pass or otherwise satisfy International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and/or American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sunglass traffic light test(s) or standard(s) for red light, yellow light, and green light, transmission.
A sunglass lens comprising a filter, wherein the sunglass lens transmits 350 lux or more of light intensity within a range of light wavelengths having a 40% or greater light transmission within a light wavelength range of one or more of 480 nm+/−30 nm or 450 nm-530 nm, wherein the range of light wavelengths covers a majority of absorption spectra of melanopsin and rhodopsin and also partially covers absorption curves or spectra of at least some opsins of an eye's cones, wherein the sunglass lens provides a visible light transmission (VLT) through the sunglass lens within a range of 30% or less, wherein the sunglass lens protects an eye of a wearer of the sunglass lens from some or all ultraviolet (UV) and high-energy visible (HEV) light that strikes the sunglass lens, and wherein the sunglass lens provides color balance transmission of light wavelengths, thereby allowing the sunglass lens to pass or otherwise satisfy International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and/or American National Standards Institute (ANSI) sunglass traffic light test(s) or standard(s) for red light, yellow light, and green light, transmission.
