Syringe with priming indicator

A medication delivery system, comprising:

• a syringe, comprising:
• a syringe body defining a syringe cavity and a syringe port, wherein the syringe port is in fluid communication with the syringe cavity;
• a medication plunger disposed on a plunger shaft, the medication plunger disposed within the syringe cavity and defining a medication chamber in the syringe cavity, wherein the medication chamber is in fluid communication with the syringe port;
• a biasing member disposed along a portion of the plunger shaft, wherein the biasing member urges the medication plunger from an unprimed position to a primed position toward the syringe port;
• a priming mechanism coupled to the biasing member, the priming mechanism comprising a through hole disposed within a priming shaft;
• and
• a retention mechanism releasably coupling the priming shaft to the syringe body, wherein the retention mechanism prevents the biasing member from advancing the medication plunger in an engaged position and permits the biasing member to advance the medication plunger in a released position, the retention mechanism comprising:
• a priming slot formed in the syringe body;
• and
• a priming trigger configured to be releasably coupled to the priming shaft;
• and
• a tubing in fluid communication with the syringe port and a catheter.
