Abstract
This invention provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising an agent that can bind Siglec receptors on cell surface. This invention also provides the method of preparing said pharmaceutical composition and the use thereof.

A composition comprising nanoparticles comprising a polysialic acid co-precipitated with a cationic lipid, and an optional active pharmaceutical ingredient, wherein the cationic lipid is Dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium propane (DOTAP), wherein the nanoparticles have a negative zeta potential, wherein the weight ratio of the polysialic acid to DOTAP is from 10:1 to 1:2, and wherein a non-covalent complex between the polysialic acid and DOTAP is formed.
