Abstract
Disclosed herein are oral formulations comprising a nicotine composition and/or a kava composition. The oral formulations comprising a nicotine composition and/or a kava composition disclosed herein may be formulated as a chewable tablet, a lozenge, a chewing gum, a dissolvable oral strip, or a pouch. Also disclosed herein are methods for making a chewable tablet, a lozenge, a chewing gum, a dissolvable oral strip, or a pouch comprising a nicotine composition and/or a kava composition.
Claims16
An oral formulation comprising:
- (i) an amount of nicotine or a salt thereof;
- and
- (ii) a composition comprising an amount of kavalactones;
- wherein the amount of kavalactones is between about 125 mg and about 900 mg;
- wherein the kavalactones comprise kavain, dihydrokavain, and optionally, methysticin, dihydromethysticin, yangonin, and desmethoxyyangonin;
- and
- wherein the composition is formulated as a paste.

An oral pouch comprising:
- (i) a container formed by a web or fabric comprising one or more fibrous materials enclosing an internal cavity;
- and
- (ii) an oral formulation provided within the internal cavity;
- wherein the oral formulation comprises:
- (a) an amount of one or more excipients;
- (b) an amount of nicotine or a salt thereof;
- (c) a composition comprising an amount of kavalactones;
- wherein the kavalactones comprise kavain, dihydrokavain, and optionally, methysticin, dihydromethysticin, yangonin, and desmethoxyyangonin;
- and
- wherein the composition is formulated as a paste.
