Abstract
A liquid ant bait pack having a primary bait well and a plurality of feeding reservoirs for holding liquid bait is provided in which the walls of the feeding reservoirs as well as the primary bait well are sloped to facilitate ant access to the liquid bait held therein while reducing the risk of the ants falling into the bait and drowning. Ant access is further facilitated by dry platform areas positioned between the reservoirs. The inclusion of multiple feeding reservoirs, the bait well and the dry platform areas provides an increased area over which ants can simultaneously access the bait. The entrance to the bait pack is sealed during manufacture and then readily opened by the consumer using a tear-off tab that can removed without the need for any tools.
Claims15
An ant bait pack comprising:
- a container for liquid ant bait;
- a removable tab at a front end of said container;
- an entry cavity defined at the front end of said container;
- a primary bait well disposed at a bottom portion of said container;
- a first pair of reservoirs located adjacent to the bait well;
- a second pair of reservoirs positioned between the first pair of reservoirs and the tab, each of said reservoirs in said first pair being in liquid flow communications with said bait well via a respective upstream channel and also being in liquid flow communication with a respective one of said reservoirs in said second pair via a respective downstream channel;
- and
- a dry platform located above a liquid bait level and separating at least one of a first reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs from a second reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs, or a first reservoir of the second pair of reservoirs from a second reservoir of the second pair of reservoirs, the dry platform defined at a height greater than a height of at least one of the first pair of reservoirs or the second pair of reservoirs over its length, the dry platform defining a uniformly planar surface over its length and extending continuously in a longitudinal direction from the entry cavity at the front end of the container to the bait well, the dry platform extending in a latitudinal direction towards the first pair of reservoirs and the second pair of reservoirs.
An ant bait pack comprising:
- a container for liquid ant bait;
- a removable tab at a front end of the container;
- a primary bait well at a rear end of the container;
- a first pair of reservoirs located adjacent to the bait well, each of the reservoirs in the first pair of reservoirs being in liquid flow communications with the bait well via a respective upstream channel;
- and
- a dry platform extending from the front end of the container toward the bait well and separating a first reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs from a second reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs in a lateral direction of the container, the dry platform area defined at a height greater than a height of the first reservoir and the second reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs over its length, the dry platform defining a planar surface extending continuously from the front end of the container to the bait well at the height greater than the height of the first reservoir and the second reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs, the planar surface extending towards the respective upstream channel in a direction contrary to a plane of the bait well, the height of the dry platform area in a vertical direction being constant over its length relative to a bottom surface of the bait well.
An ant bait pack comprising:
- a container for liquid ant bait including an upper portion and a lower portion;
- a removable defined tab at a front end of the container;
- a primary bait well formed in the lower portion of the container;
- a first pair of reservoirs formed in the lower portion and arranged adjacent to the bait well;
- and
- a second pair of reservoirs arranged between the first pair of reservoirs and the tab, each of the reservoirs of the first pair of reservoirs in liquid flow communication with the bait well via a pair of respective upstream channels and in liquid flow communication with a respective one of the reservoirs of the second pair via a pair of respective downstream channels, wherein within the lower portion of the container, first reservoirs of each of the first and second pairs of reservoirs are in liquid flow communication with second reservoirs of each of the first and second pairs of reservoirs only through the bait well;
- wherein a first one of each of the pair of upstream channels and the pair of downstream channels, and a second one of each of the pair of upstream channels and the pair of downstream channels, are aligned with one another in a longitudinal direction of the container, the first one of the upstream channels and the first one of the downstream channels are separated from the second one of the upstream channels and the second one of the downstream channels by an elevated dry platform extending between the front end of the container and the bait well, the dry platform defining a planar surface extending continuously from the front end of the container to the bait well at a height greater than a height of the first reservoir and the second reservoir of the first pair of reservoirs, the planar surface extending towards the pair of upstream channels and the pair of downstream channels in a direction contrary to a plane of the bait well, the height of the dry platform area in a vertical direction being constant over its length relative to a bottom surface of the bait well.
