System and method for facilitating user interaction with a simulated object associated with a physical location

A device comprising:

• a location sensor;
• a camera;
• a display;
• memory storing one or more computer programs;
• and
• one or more processors communicatively coupled to the location sensor, the camera, the display, and the memory,
• wherein the one or more computer programs include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors individually or collectively, cause the device to:
• render a user interface including a map of a physical location,
• receive a selection of a region on the map made by a user via the user interface, the region corresponding to the physical location,
• obtain location data of the device while displaying at least one image obtained by the camera,
• in response to determining that the location data satisfies a criterion specifying where a simulated object associated with a physical object can be generated, provide the simulated object with the at least one image obtained by the camera, wherein the simulated object is associated with the physical location, and
• based on a change of a motion of the device, terminate the displaying of the simulated object and the at least one image and display, without further input other than the motion of the device, the user interface including the map of the physical location.
